EDITORS

It is with great pleasure that we can announce Editors will be playing their only UK shows of the year here in Birmingham at the HMV institute! The Birmingham based band sprung out from the local scene to national attention in 2005 with their debut single ,'Bullets', and have since notched up three top ten albums, with two going platinum, and toured the world extensively. After a daring change of direction with their most recent album, 'In This Light and On This Evening', drawing on more electronic influences, they created their rawest, most innovative album to date, which saw the band score their second UK number-one of their career. Currently in the studio working on their eagerly anticipated fourth album, once more with super-producer Flood (U2, PJ Harvey, Depeche Mode), the band will be taking a brief break to play a pair of intimate homecoming shows.

"Guitars, sounding like synths, soar into the stratosphere, and intense crescendos linger over delicate, breathy passages." - MOJO, 8/10

"Editors embrace the light and the dark and, in doing so, have created a debut that will endure." - NME, 8/10

PEACE

Peace are four boys from the West Midlands of England. Formed in October 2010 they cite vast influences; listening to great music from an early age, growing up in the 1990s, The Warriors, Paul Kalkbrenner's 'Sky & Sand', contemplating nature and Talking Heads.

Musically they create something melodic, deep and playful, which is at the same time dark, driving and sexy. Although sounding like some kind of chaotic future-indie hailstorm, it comes out as something completely inoffensive to the senses.

FREE SCHOOL

If you've seen Free School before then you know what to expect; shimmering, Balearic keys washing over thumping live disco drums, whilst scattered sonics & mangled samples fill the room, tickling your ears and face. The band now boasts an extra live dimension in vocalist Greg Bird, bringing his sultry and sexy vocals to the dancefloor.

Having signed to the acclaimed TIRK label, the duo have notched up 2 E.P.s and a string of acclaimed remixes, winning the support of Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Jacques Renault, The Big Chill and Ministry Of Sound.

With their debut album 'Tender Administration' out in July and festival appearances across the summer, now is the right time to check out Brum's finest synth molesters.
