Lapalux likes to rest up in the Essex countryside for extended periods dealing with nothing but field recordings and warm analogue crackles. Heavily inspired by French experimentalist Dorine Muraille, Lapalux is knitting his carpet in a patchwork of loops, harmonies and bleeps. Taking musical influence from 80s synth-pop and electronica he listened to as a child, he evokes the magic he felt then with his use of infectious melody, strong synths, a bold vocal delivery and driving rhythms, whilst adding some trademark subtlety in the form of gentle, abstract chord shifts and whimsical lyrics. Driven by a very personal shift for Glover from the rural landscape of his childhood to the post-industrial ruins of a nearby city, Glover's first solo album, 'Walls' (out in June 2013) rests at the point where these two landscapes meet.
