more details » Black P.O.W.E.R Black People Organised and Working for Economic Rebirth. The forum provides an opportunity for members of the Black community to expand their professional and business networks, meet and socialise with their peers at a designated location each week, and to engage in monthly fund raising activities for the Spade Hammer and Pen Society. Weekly forums are held at Club Umoja to recognise and honour those black professionals, and business people, amongst us, who are actively engaged in contributing to the economic advancement of the wider black community, leading by their successes and achievements for others to emulate. Professionals from social work, probation, Education, Housing, Youth work, public administration, etc are invited to attend alongside entrepreneurs who are established, and are yet to be established. The setting is structured and led by the needs of those attending. The setting may therefore change from week to week.
