RIP GROOVE
Double 99 scored a big dance hit in the U.K. in 1998 with "R.I.P. Groove." Typical of the speed garage sound popular in the U.K. at the time, the track ended up on Ministry of Sound's Annual collection for 1998.The double-pack, titled Double 99, featured 8 epic tracks, each with their own unique vibe, with one track really standing out from the crowd: Rip Groove. Released in the March of 1997, demand heavily outweighed supply, and within 3 days this Double 99 sold out in every independent record store from London to Dublin. Within a month of its release, Rip Groove was being played in 97% of clubs and radio stations up and down the country. Unbeknown to them at the time, Ice Cream had set a milestone that was about to change the direction of UK dance music foreverIce Cream records is set to go down in history as the foremost record label to pioneer the first ever UK Garage cross over, the catalytic bassline track Rip Groove by Double 99. From their infancy back in 1997, Ice Cream helped to carve the way for what can be described today as a very healthyand vibrant UK urban scene

AGENT SUMO
Consisting of Edinburgh native Martin Cole and the Leeds-born Steven Halliday, the electronica duoAgent Sumo took its name from two words put together from suggestions by friends. Although thetwo lived in Leeds at the same time for a period and frequented the same clubs, it wasn't until 1998 when the pair were living in London that they were introduced by a mutual friend. An early independent release, 1999's "Sunflowers," made a name for them among the club community and Agent Sumo was signed to Virgin. Their first single for the label was "24 Hours," which found favor among fans of the genre and preceded the full-length album Do It Yourself (We Did), which was released in 2002.From 24hours to “Aint got time to stop” and the very bass driven bounce of “Why” Agent Sumo were on a roll. There two biggest remixes of this golden era were Beverley Knights ‘Shoulda WouldaCoulda’ and Cahills ‘Trippin’ both charting in the top ten reaching astronomical success.
