My first taste of 'the Underground' was acquired from listening to local West Midlands pirate radio stations such as Fantasy FM and Exile Radio. I first became interested in Breakbeat Hardcore around '93/94 but then quickly became bored of the repetitive sound and lack of originality, around the time when the genre split into Jungle / Happy Hardcore. Around the start of 1995 I discovered Underground House and Garage, bought my first set of proper decks (Soundlab DLP-1's :-)) and started to build what is now a colossal vinyl collection from artists such as MK, Todd Edwards, Grant Nelson, Kerri Chandler, RIP Productions, Eddie Perez/Mentalinstrum, Richard Purser, Jeremy Sylvester, Tuff Jam, Booker T etc etc... Got bored and lost interest between 2002-2006 when UK Garage lost it's bumpyness so I continued playing and hunting down the older and more obscure stuff. Around this time, digital releases started to take off and I began to discover many newer Deep House tracks that retained elements of the original New York House and Oldskool Garage sound. I''ve since become hooked on this 'Newskool' 'Oldskool' vibe.
