DECADENCE DECEMBER 8TH December 08/ ►► GRAEME PARK - Hacienda Legend The story of DJ Graeme Park really mirrors the story of the evolution of dance music and club culture itself. Graeme found himself working in a Nottingham record shop called Selectadisc in the early 1980s, when the very first house records began to filter through from Chicago, Detroit and New York. When the shop's owner also opened a nightclub, it was only natural he should turn to Graeme to select the discs. Determined to showcase this new style of music, his reputation as a house pioneer soon brought him to the attention of Mike Pickering at the Haçienda in Manchester, who asked him to cover for him whilst he went on holiday in 1988. Simply put, there was no-one else in the country who could do the job. The Summer of Love followed, and Parky quickly became one of the biggest names on the emerging dance scene. Aside from his eight-year residency at The Haç, he was one of the first British DJs to play places like Australia, South America, the USA, Asia and beyond as well as producing and remixing tracks for the dancefloor. And with 2012 being The Haçienda's 30th anniversary, Graeme has found himself playing a lot of classic tunes on the ongoing 30th anniversary tour which began on The Haçienda's birthday the 21st May in the car park underneath The Haçienda apartments, continued all over the UK, Europe and beyond and ends with Graeme DJing for 7 hours at the annual Haçienda Christmas Party at Sankeys in Manchester on 27th December.

Hannah Wants is a self-taught house music DJ from Birmingham. She mixes a variety of house genres but her style is often heavily 'bass' influenced. Having been brought up in a musically orientated family Hannah was surrounded by a mixture of sounds such as Soul, R&B, Alternative Rock, Indie and 80's/90's house and electro from a very early age and her passion for music was easily established. In 2012 alone, Hannah has played alongside the likes of Annie Mac, Justin Martin, Shadow Child, Disclosure, Jaguar Skills, Danny Howard, Huxley, SBTRKT, Roska, Jamie George, Redlight, Magnetic Man, Mak & Pasteman and XXXY. 2011 was another big year as Hannah Wants began headlining clubbing events in the UK. In June, she returned to Ibiza for two months and played at various events / clubs such as Space, Eden, Es Paradis, Hush, Plastik, and Hed Kandi, as well as holding her own weekly night at Viva where her music selection / DJ style gained her many fans. Upon Hannah's second return from the Balearics, her DJ'ing career and reputation as one of the UK's hottest talents, has gone from strength to strength. So far in 2012 Hannah Wants has already won a Mixmag DJ competition, played at Creamfields, Annie Mac Presents and Cream 20th Anniversary Tour, DJ'd at an underground warehouse rave in Germany, mini-toured in South Africa and as 2012 draws to a close there already some great gigs booked in for 2013 such as XOYO (London) and 902 (Bristol). Hannah DJ's regularly around the UK, is one of the most in demand DJ's in her particular house 'scene' and headlines some of the biggest and best clubbing events. Although primarily a DJ, Hannah has always had a huge interest in the production of music and some her more recent tracks have been getting support from the likes of Shadow Child, Eats Everything, B. Traits, Kry Wolf, Ben UFO, Chris James, Huxley, Gorgon City, Andi Durrant, Foamo, Marcus Nasty, Andy George & Jaymo, and DJ Q. Hannah's tracks have also been supported on and received numerous plays on national radio stations; Radio 1, Capital FM, 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM.
