THE ARCADIAN KICKS

The Arcadian Kicks are without doubt one of the most exciting bands to come out of Birmingham in the last few years and we are delighted to be welcoming them to play live at Freestyle for the first time. Having worked and recorded with Mike Chapman, producer of Blondie's classic "Parallel Lines" album, The Arcadian Kicks' sound takes inspiration from far and wide, citing influences from Fleetwood Mac, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine through to The Horrors and The Naked & Famous. This promises to be a rare occasion in which to catch the band play in such an intimate environment, don't miss your chance before they hit the stratosphere!

THE BLUEBEAT ARKESTRA

The Bluebeat Arkestra have built a reputation as one of the most thrilling live bands in Birmingham, their music taking influences from far and wide, fusing indie, disco, funk, electro, hip hop, dub, electro and more. Comprised of seven members from very different musical backgrounds, The Bluebeat Arkestra sound like nothing you've heard before, but will consequently want to hear a lot more of. Whether headlining festivals or playing in your grandma's front room, they come with a 100% guarantee to get you dancing. Having recently set up the much talked about label Hustle! Records (www.hustlerecords.co.uk), expect to hear much more of this magnificent bunch in days to come.

Pick yourself up a free download of recent recording "Move On" here.

FREELANCE MOURNERS

Freelance Mourners made a big impression with their debut appearance at Freestyle last November, and with some brand new sounds, songs and confetti cannons up their sleeve are odds-on to deliver even more this time around. A four-piece comprising drums, bass, guitar and trumpet, Freelance Mourners cite Tom Waits, Scott Walker, Devotchka, Bierut, Chic, free jazz, prog metal, opera and salsa as influences. Expect the unexpected.

Take a listen to their latest album, "The Wicked Bible", here.

SNOOTY BOBS

Snooty Bobs play a concoction of hard-hitting latin funk and dazzling soulful jazz. Mixing influences as diverse as James Brown with Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd with Polar Bear, and vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday, it is a requirement at every Snooty Bobs show that each audience member comes fully-equipped with their own pair of dancing shoes.

BLOOD MOON SIRENS

Blood Moon Sirens' bass-driven electro funk sound kicks off proceedings, and is certain to warm the room from the word go. The core of the band have played together in various forms for around ten years, and it is this experience that forms their backbone and sets them aside as one of the most accomplished live bands around.
