Freestyle with Paper Tiger / 4oz Of Groove / Dubcherry / UniqueFriday 17th February Freestyle presents… Live music from Plus DJ sets from Paper Tiger's unique brand of future hip hop, dancefloor-slaying broken beat and skanking dubstep has garnered praise from far and wide of late, and we are delighted to welcome them to Freestyle for a first Birmingham live show featuring the current 8-piece line-up. With support from Radio 1 (Mary-Anne Hobbs, Huw Stephens), 1Xtra (Mistajam, Ras Kwame), Charlie Dark and 6Music (Steve Lamacq) under their belt, the last 18 months has seen Paper Tiger share stages with the likes of Hexstatic, Alice Russell, The Gaslamp Killer, Bonobo, Daedelus and The Herbaliser, amongst many, many others. Their show is fully live: no sequencers or backing tracks, just furious button pushing and limb flailing, and promises to be quite unmissable. Live support comes from 4oz Of Groove, who shook the Bull's Head to its foundations the last time they appeared at the night, Dubcherry with a beautifully crafted set of dub and neo soul and Unique, whose soul / jazz inspired performances never fail to set the party off on just the right foot. DJ support comes from Gorillaz Soundsystem's Guy Carlos, rising talent Pascal Wray and Soul Rebel, who will be playing a party-pleasing selection in the downstairs bar.
